Student runs his way to national cross country success

Timothy Blowes has been mominated for Newslocal Young Achiever of the Year Award/Junior Sportsperson of the Year Award for Northern District Times.

With achievements including:
• Awarded 1st Place in 13 Years Boys – AWD in the HZSA Cross Country Carnival on 6th May, 2015.
• Placed at the AICES Carnival on 4th June, 2015, qualifying him to run as part of the AICES squad at NSWCIS.
• Placed 1st at the NSWCIS Cross Country in the 13 Years Boys – AWD
• Placed 2nd in 13 Years Boys – AWD at the NSW State Cross Country.
• Represented Arden and NSW at the All Schools’ Nationals in Melbourne on 28th August, 2015.    At the Nationals Timothy placed 2nd in Australia for the 13 Years Boys – AWD – a wonderful achievement.  He showed great determination and athletic ability as he smashed his Personal Best (PB), running an amazing 13.20 minutes for 3km’s.
2014 key achievement
• Placed 2nd in Australia for the 12 Years Boys – AWD at the Cross Country Nationals.

Mrs Jenny Lee, Arden’s Head of Sport said:  “Timothy is a fine example of a positive, resilient athlete who has succeeded through adversity by sheer determination, skill and most importantly his humble and gracious spirit.  As a school we are very proud and look forward to seeing where Timothy decides to take his sporting ability into the future.”

Commenting on Tim’s Nationals race, Mr Jonathan Blowes said: “We are really proud of how he ran and more importantly the sportsmanship he displayed after the race.”
