| Speech is assisted in two ways within the school. Speech Pathology Arden has the services of a speech therapist who visits the school each week to assist any students who require assistance with their speech. These students are sometimes referred by specialists. Fees are paid by the parents directly to the pathologist. This is particularly successful with communication directly to the classroom teacher about the child. Communication In our communication lessons students are taught how to discuss and debate. The aim is to develop self confidence and fluency in each student. Teaching communication encourages students to show consideration and respect for the ideas and feelings of others. Reading skills are developed in order that students may come to love and appreciate the written word. |
