Arden's clubs include:
Chess Club
This is a popular club at Arden. A large number of primary children join in this activity each Friday afternoon. Two chess tutors assist with coaching the children. The school competes in the Metropolitan North Regions Ryde/Hills Zone Chess competition each year.Tutors are employed by the school to assist in tutoring the large group of participants.
Music Ensemble Groups
Our music club meets at lunchtime and performs at different times during the year. Due to its popularity, the ensemble group has grown to orchestral proportions in recent years. Every second year a Festival Choir is selected to perform at the Sydney Town Hall JSHAA Music Festival.
A String group, known as "String Fever", has grown in recent years due to the increasing interest and numbers of children learning stringed instruments within the school. This group meets after school one afternoon per week and performs at every opportunity.
A School Band meets each Monday morning to prepare pieces for performances. A tuition programme in Woodwind and Brass instruments has complimented this activity.
Choir
Our school choir currently has a membership of 110 primary aged children. This popular group perform with dignity and pride both inside and outside the school. Each alternate year a large number of selected students from our choir are chosen to be part of a Festival Choir which performs at the interschool Music Festival at Sydney Town Hall. |
