Some children come to Arden with learning difficulties.
Arden endeavors at all times to cater to each child's individual needs. Our resource staff work within the classroom in conjunction with the class teacher assisting individuals. If a child needs to be withdrawn, this is possible but most work is best done within the class or in small groups.
New students entering Years 1 to 6 are tested to identify any areas requiring development.
In Year 7 to 10 students are supported by a team of staff individually or in small groups. We apply for funding to assist some students. This is available from state and federal sources but is limited.
A large team of staff, teachers aids and specialists are available which is a very substantial resource for a school our size. In addition the Principal, Deputy Principal and Director of Curriculum assist with classes as resource teachers particularly with maths and extension groups.
A teachers' aide gives assistance in a Numeracy and Literacy initiative in the infants school.
We also have on site Speech and Occupational Therapists. These staff also arrange for Gifted and Talented Programs throughout the school. Many parent volunteers assist in the remedial program throughout the school.
Arden aims to assist each child to realise his or her true potential. |
