We write this while sitting in the dining car of the Intercity train from Florence to Paris....
After a squeezy night with 6 in each cabin filled to the eyeballs with luggage, we are awaiting the barista to fire the coals unders his espresso machine. Switzerland is zooming past as the sun is starting to rise on what is sure to be another eventful day.
Florence start with a bus trip from Rome, witnessing all the changges in architecture as we moved from inner city Rome to rural Tuscany. Our driver was keen to give us the full experience of Italian driving with many a blast from the air horns along the freeway.
In Florence, after unpacking and dinner in a quaint restaurant where the pasta was flowing, we experienced the Duomo at night. What a stunning sight!
Next morning, we went off on a walking tour of Florence where the tour guide showed us the sights and sounds and tastes of Florence! Below are some photos so far..
