Junior Music

At Arden, we have an integrated approach to Music where the classroom and co-curricular programs work together. Classroom music, Co-curricular music ensembles and individual music tuition provide our Junior Campus students with opportunities to extend their musical ability and experience.

classroom music

We give our students the opportunity to enjoy music and to express themselves creatively by being involved in active music making. Students create, learn from mistakes and learn to appreciate the ideas of their peers in a friendly and safe musical environment.

Our classroom music program is designed to strengthen self-confidence and social skills and to build a foundation for the child’s future musical education by developing basic musical concepts. Students develop skills on a range on instruments like our compulsory String program where Year 2 students have weekly lessons on an orchestral string instrument. Year 3 students develop recorder skills, Year 6 students study guitar, to name a few.

All students enjoy performances like Musica Viva, learning new repertoire and engaging with a wide range of professional musicians who also visit the School.
