Have you heard?
There is a new way to get involved in your child’s school!
Arden Anglican School is very pleased to announce the launch of the Arden Parent Network (APN) and you are invited to join in all the fun of volunteering in 2020.
What is the Arden Parent Network? At Arden, we welcome and encourage the involvement of our parents, carers and grandparents in school life. We have greatly benefited from the efforts of many generous volunteers over the past 98 years. More importantly, your children benefit when you are involved in their school – a well-researched fact!
The very simple objective of the Arden Parent Network is to work in year group teams to help promote and foster friendship and community spirit amongst our families, whilst also supporting programs and activities of the School.
Why do we need the APN? There will always be the need to connect socially with other parents, welcome new families and at certain times of the year, assistance is needed to stage significant school events or activities. We are also looking forward to launching some new social activities for parents in 2020 so many hands make light work!
Who will join? Dads, mums, nannas, grandpas, guardians – anyone who has a current student at Arden. Ideally, we will have a team for every year group – from Pre-School to Year 12. If committees are not for you because you just have a few hours here and there to offer assistance, then the Arden Parent Network is perfect for you. We will make it easy for you to volunteer based on the age and stage of your children, your interests and time. Your involvement may vary from organising a year group morning tea at the local café, making a welcome phone call to a new family, arranging a family picnic at the local park or fulfilling a role to help us stage school-wide events.
What will I be expected to do? Join in the fun based on your time and capacity. You will be provided with all the information you need in the Arden Parents Manual and a termly meeting will be held to give you the opportunity to meet fellow Year Parents and plan activities relevant to your year group. The Principal and Heads of School will also attend meetings to keep us informed of school developments and programs.
