INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
THE ARDEN ANGLICAN SCHOOL INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
Arden Anglican School’s Internship Program is a unique and dynamic initiative designed to support the formation of future educators who are passionate about teaching and committed to Christian values. Our program provides Initial Teacher Education Students with the practical experience, mentorship, and professional learning opportunities needed to become outstanding members of the teaching profession.
STRUCTURE
ONE TO TWO YEAR PAID INTERNSHIP
Interns are supported throughout their postgraduate Master of Teaching (MTeach) or Bachelor of Education (BEd) program, working up to two days per week (0.4 FTE).
PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE
The program begins with a one-week full-time paid teaching placement early in Term 1, supporting your immersion into school culture, classroom routines, and connecting you with supervising teachers and students.
INVOLVEMENT IN SCHOOL LIFE
Interns engage in classroom activities, observations, team-teaching, participation in staff and department meetings, involvement in co-curricular activities, excursions, school camps, Chapel services, and major school events.

| Professional Learning | Interns benefit from access to Arden’s internal professional learning program, including first aid, child protection, Staff Professional Development Days, Staff Meetings, and department curriculum planning. |
| Curriculum and Pedagogical Support | Interns have the opportunity to work alongside experienced educators in the development of programs and resources and as such receive a school laptop for the duration of their tenure. Additionally, there is the opportunity to learn practical skills such as writing student reports and forming effective partnerships with parents as well as developing evidence-based teaching strategies and Christian teaching pedagogy. |
| Conditional Accreditation | Support to gain conditional accreditation and optionally commence casual teaching in addition to internship responsibilities once accredited. |
| Financial | Interns are paid for all school-based duties, including final practicum placements. Upon successful completion of your MTeach/BEd, Arden will cover 15% of your course tuition fees (subject to academic progress and Principal approval). |
| Ongoing Employment | Upon successful completion of the internship program, interns may be offered a teaching position at Arden Anglican School, which is expected to be held for a minimum of three years. |
ELEGIBILITY
To be eligible for the program, interns must be commencing their first or second year of a postgraduate Master of Teaching (MTeach) or their third or fourth year of a Bachelor of Education (BEd). Interns must have an active Christian faith and regular attendance and involvement at a local church.
